El Valle, Chocó
A well-kept secret
This is one of the wettest, wildest regions on the planet — and one of the most beautiful. The humpback whales that come to give birth in these protected waters are its emblem, but that's just a glimpse of everything nature has to offer here.
El Valle is a fishing village where time slows down, tucked between ocean and jungle, where life follows the tides and the daily catch. No big hotels, no tourist complexes — just endless wild beaches, canoes coming back at dawn loaded with fresh fish, and a warm Afro-Colombian community that makes this village a place apart.
You come to El Valle to truly switch off, get lost in the jungle looking for hidden waterfalls, or simply plant your feet in the sand and watch the Pacific change colour at sunset.
And you leave changed — when you leave…

July – October
Humpback whales
Every year they travel up from Antarctica to give birth in the warm waters of the Colombian Pacific. We head out at dawn, cut the engine. Silence — then a breath.
